After all of our guests have left, a little time to catch our breath and prepare for the off. Lots of jobs done on the boat – cleaning inside and out, Justin spent a day wiring up the bowthruster batteries whilst Helen went into Dubrovnik to have her haircut (a haircut for the beach?).
It was also an opportunity to fit the new Sterling battery regulator. Justin managed to get the alternator off and apart, but his soldering skills leave a little to be desired! Luckily the electrical engineer was doing some work on the boat next door so kindly soldered the necessary wires. Justin put it all back together and ‘bingo’ it works. Brilliant, we now have more power when out at sea for long periods of time.
We took a trip into Gruz to buy all of the essentials the marina supermarket can’t offer and we are ready for the off! A group of young German lads had just finished their week’s charter and left us all of their unused beer, pasta etc. – what a result!
