Day One- we arrived at the Marina after an eventful journey as we had a crash in the taxi as two cars carried on going into the back of us as we were braking. Luckily the taxi which we were in was the least damaged and no one was injured. As we reached the top of the mountain we saw the wonderful views leading to the river estuary. Once we arrived we were greeted by Helen and Justin and went for a swim in the pool which was relaxing.
Day Two- Once we got out of the Marina we were given the wheel and luckily there were no close calls but Justin had to take over because the sea started to get a bit choppy and on the way we saw huge cruise ships. We went to a beautiful island called Lokrum where we had lunch and relaxed in the sun. The afternoon involved a lot of abuse towards Captain Justin involving a rope and the dinghy. We explored the island in which was a botanical garden, we saw many exotic animals including peacocks. We returned back to the Marina instead of staying the night as it started to cloud over and thought it would be more comfortable.
Day Three- We left the Marina and set off to Luka, Sipan. It was another scorching day and the crew took their usual position the decks. It was quite windy so we set up our sail but we realised that there was not much actual wind. So we brought down the sail and powered onto Luka. Once we arrived in this stunning yet quiet bay, we all went for a swim as the sea temperature had reached 27 Celsius! As Justin was looking too comfortable in his dinghy we thought for the benefit of him, feeling the warmth of the water we gently tipped him in, which he really seemed to enjoy. Becky dropped her aviators in the ocean and didn’t think about diving in and getting them. So Justin and Becky spent an hour trying to get the bloody aviators, Justin got them though and Becky was happy! surprisingly Becky did something stupid and For dinner we enjoyed a delicious curry which was made by Helen ‘the godly chef’ Backhouse, (managing to create a huge gloopy mess which Justin had to carve off the cooker) although later on through the week she took a more official role from one of the top selling films…..
Day Four- We woke up to another scorcher of a day and went for a refreshing morning swim, which involved more chaos involving the dinghy and Justin. We had a delicious breakfast which involved chocolate doughnuts, fruit, yoghurt and crunch YUM! We stayed here until the afternoon, then set sail for Okuklje, it was a calm yet windy day so was excellent for sailing, when dusk arrived the chaos started. We were planning on having a BBQ, Justin finally by 8.30pm realised he should start cooking. Helen invested of a new wardrobe which involved a head scarf, pirate earring and black waterproof boots. I think she had reached her limit after 3 Bacardi and cokes, and was very entertaining.
Oh dear we appear to be on land!

Day Five- Woke up to another hot morning and knew it was going to be another taxing day ahead. We ate our usual delicious breakfast but instead of croissants we had bread and nutella. The amount of different fish was sensational for snorkelling so we spent hours of our time doing this. Once we had had our last swim we set off for Saurod (South Sipan) which was surrounded in fish all around. Monica had a mare with the backgammon pieces and Becky and her seemed to be laughing for a fair bit of time. Once again Becky changed the music at least 50 times on one little journey back to the marina, as Justin says, she NEEDS therapy! Once we had finally got the pizza ordered after a kafuffle about the menu, Jess won the competition of eating a whole pizza the quickest, must have eaten it within 4 minutes. Later that night we watched the one and only ‘Mama Mia’. Helen finally found her curtain call as the, in the kindest way possible ‘the hag lady’ was one of the main parts in Mama Mia, who was playing the French horn during the wedding.
Day 6- After a lazy morning in the pool, we set off to Dubrovnik in the afternoon, we had a delicious steak and enjoyed the walk around the old town. This was beautiful and the views were amazing.
What an enjoyable week with the company of great friend, Justin and Helen and i just hope that they have a great time and enjoy the 400 and so days left of their sail and where will we meet next time, Turkey?
I would just like to say thank you to Helen and Justin for making this week so enjoyable and making me feel so welcome. I have enjoyed every second here. Helen your cooking has been amazing and you are great fun and Justin your sailing was great and i’m glad you’ve passed your boat licence and you are also great fun and a bit of a joker. But I have to say the one word that describes you is: A Baby. I Hope you both have an amazing time on your luxurious travels as you both deserve it. Thank you again, lots of love Becky x x x
Some more photos showing what a dreadful time we all had!

What a great record of a fantastic week. We are looking at the photos as we sit here in the rain and can still feel the heat, the sway and hear the captain's call of 'What time is it?'. Of course it's beer o'clock captain we all reply. Many thanks for an unforgettable time and we all wish you happy sailing. Love from Cotheridge to you both and take care of that pirate hat!
