New Year

 

After a brilliant New Year’s Eve party in the marina restaurant, Justin braved the chilly Turquoise Waters for a New Year’s Day swim with Ottie and a number of other mad folks.

After a Hot Toddie and a warm shower, we were invited to spend the rest of the day on board ‘Flash Royal’ a beautiful 66 foot Moody Yacht.

What a fabulous way to spend New Year’s day!

Christmas on the marina

December was a quieter month with many of the yachties returning home for the winter and only the die hards staying to enjoy the festivities in Turkey.
It was another very enjoyable month, with many social activities.
Justin managed to get conned into being Father Christmas at the Christmas Eve party, ably assisted by Belle Helene and Osan, the manager’s son.

We even sang carols around the crane gantry!

We decorated the boat and Justin had a go at making mince pies and gingerbread goodies.

Oh dear I think a New Year haircut may be in order!
After a great Christmas Eve party in the restaurant, we spent Christmas Day with 10 friends on ’Stormvogel’, a beautiful 72 foot classic yacht. It is the boat which was used in the film ‘Dead Calm’ with Nicole Kidman. After a lovely lunch we sat down and watched the film on board – a brilliant day.

Even Donatello, the skipper’s pet tortoise, got a special lunch!
